Gases heat and cool very fast,<\/p>\n
solids heat and store heat for a much longer time than gases, hours longer,<\/p>\n
water, dirt, sand, rocks and trees will still be warm after the sun goes down,<\/p>\n
after the air has already cooled,<\/p>\n
~ 10*, 20*, 30*, 40 degrees ~<\/p>\n
then the hot water, dirt, sand, rock and trees continue to heat the much cooler air.<\/p>\n
The water, dirt, sand, rocks and trees are heated by the very hot liquid core of this planet,<\/p>\n
with added heat by the sun, during the day, if there is sun,<\/p>\n
~ sometimes cloud cover prevents any warming by the sun ~<\/p>\n

The further towards the sun, in the atmosphere, the colder it is,<\/p>\n
the closer to this planet, with a hot liquid core, the warmer it is.<\/p>\n

The Water from my 400 foot deep well is 50* degrees year round.<\/p>\n
Twenty five miles down, is a very hot, cooling churning liquid rock.<\/p>\n

Cold air at ground level is caused by the hot ground air rising in to the upper atmosphere,<\/p>\n
forcing and\u00a0trapping\u00a0the cold air down to the ground, and lower atmosphere.<\/p>\n
If heat did not rise, it would be\u00a0far to hot for life as we know it.<\/p>\n

If I dig a hole in my backyard in the summer,<\/p>\n
(because I can not dig a hole in the winter, the ground is frozen)<\/p>\n
deep enough to stand in, then cover the top of the hole,<\/p>\n
the air\u00a0temperature in the hole will stay about 40 degrees year\u00a0round,<\/p>\n
regardless of the air temperature out side, above ground.<\/p>\n
If the air above ground is -30 degrees below zero, or 100 degrees above zero,<\/p>\n
the covered hole in the ground\u00a0will be about 40 degrees,<\/p>\n
here in Montana,<\/p>\n
where the air can cool to -45 degrees below zero,<\/p>\n
~ with out the wind chill factor ~<\/p>\n

Glaciers move because they are heated by the core of this planet,<\/p>\n
melting the Glaciers from the bottom side.<\/p>\n
Direct sun light on Glaciers\u00a0separates the ~ frozen ~ H2O.<\/p>\n
The monoxide (O1) evaporates in to the air,<\/p>\n
the Hydrogen (H2), now similar to Hydrogen\u00a0Peroxide,<\/p>\n
flows in to the rivers and ocean.<\/p>\n
