{"id":39537,"date":"2016-09-21T07:55:01","date_gmt":"2016-09-21T14:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/co2u.info\/?page_id=39537"},"modified":"2017-04-20T08:20:33","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T15:20:33","slug":"aaa-is-wrong-automotive-comments-by-bruce","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/co2u.info\/?page_id=39537","title":{"rendered":"AAA is Wrong ~ Automotive Comments by Bruce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~*~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">September 21, 2016<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~*~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">AAA&#8217;s recent statements to the Public about using Premium Fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">in cars that do not require the higher octane fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">do not tell the whole story<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~ while ~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">my 40 plus years of Automotive Service and Testing proves otherwise<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Gasoline is: (HC) = Hydrogen and Carbon<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Most ~ Regular ~ Fuels today have Alcohol added \u00a0~ blended ~ into the fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">called Ethanol<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">starting from about 10% and up to what is called E-85<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and after about six weeks the Gas and the Alcohol separate and do not mix back together<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while putting Ethanol Fuels in older Vehicles not designed for Alcohol in the fuel system<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">does permanent damage to many components of the Vehicle<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it damages all the rubber components in the fuel system<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">from the Sending Unit and Float in the Fuel Tank<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and all the Rubber hoses in the Fuel system<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while damaging the Fuel Pump<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and then Damaging the Carburetor<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while changing the ability of the float in the carburetor from functioning properly<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">do to a change in Buoyancy caused by the Alcohol<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">causing Flooding of the Engine in many cases<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and in other cases the Ethanol can cause pre-detonation\u00a0in the combustion chamber<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">called Pinging<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that can not always be heard by the Human ear causing permanent Damage to the Engine<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as there is a more inconsistent erratic Explosion<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">in the combustion chamber with Ethanol Fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while Vapor-lock is more common with Ethanol Fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as well as harder starts on hot engines<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">from fuel that is already heated and expanded before interring the combustion chamber<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">when I was pumping gas at 16 years of age in 1970<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">after school my freshman year of high school<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Regular Fuels in the 60&#8217;s and 70&#8217;s where about 95 Octane<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and Premium Fuels as high as 110 Octane<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">back when Compression Ratios were much higher<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and Ignition timing was advancing much further<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while Octane today is Calculated differently than back then<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while from my testing<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Non &#8211; Alcohol Premium Fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">do not do this damage or harm<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while in newer Cars designed to run on Regular Fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">do not run properly when the the Gas and Alcohol separate<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while the Ethanol Fuels produce higher levels of CO2 by as much as 15% to 20%<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">from 14% CO2 out the tail pipe to as much as 17% out the tail pipe<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">than Non- Alcohol Fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while my\u00a040 plus years of testing shows<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Vehicles designed to run on regular Fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that have switched to Premium Fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">do have an increase in Performance and Fuel Economy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">lowering the cost of Fuel in some cases<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while the Premium Fuels have added Detergents in them<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">keeping Fuel Injectors in better working condition<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">reducing poor Performance and the cost of Maintenance<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while producing less<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Carbon based Oxygen = CO2 = Carbon dioxide<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as the Alcohol in Ethanol<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is made from Corn and contains the highest level of Carbon of all the Foods we eat<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while thousands of children are staving to death on this carbon based earth everyday<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as the U.S. Tax Payers are subsidizing turning food into fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that provides zero benefits to this world<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while damaging any and all outdoor power equipment<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and if you are using Regular Fuel in your new Turbo Charged Vehicle<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">this could damage the engine and void the Warranty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that&#8217;s my two cents worth<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as I refuse to put Ethanol in any of my Vehicles<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">after dealing with these issues Professionally every day as a Tune-up Technician<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and Dialing In ~ tuning ~ Race Cars\u00a0for the past 40 plus years<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while my Father years ago was a Head Operator for a very large Oil Refinery<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and the only fuel Dad put in his Vehicles was Premium<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bruce A. style=\"text-align: center;\">and how to de-tune your pre computer vintage Vehicles<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as this would apply pre 1979 Cars<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and some pre 1988 Trucks and Motor homes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and by 1989 most all Vehicles had On-board Computer Engine and Emission Controls<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Adjusting ~ Re-tuning ~ De-tuning<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">your older vehicle to run better using the newer lower octane fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as most older Cars and Trucks have a Standard Points or Electronic Ignition Distributor<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and in most cases the Distributor will have both a Centrifugal and a Vacuum Advance<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to advance the Ignition Timing as RPM increases<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">dis-connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum advance and cap off the vacuum source<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and that is 99% of the battle<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and this will allow the use of today&#8217;s lower grade fuels<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">with out having to use or add Octane Booster to the fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and prevent Damage to the older vintage engines still on the road<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and in most cases you will then advance the base Ignition Timing<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">5* to 10 *<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">so you would adjust the base timing at Idle from 5* to 10 *<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">or from 10* to 15 *<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">or from 15* to 20*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">so that when the Centrifugal Timing is at its Maximum Advance<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as this will be in most cases above 2000 to 2500 RPM&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">the total measured timing advance does not exceed 28* to 32*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and follow up with an Idle Speed and Idle Air\/Fuel Adjustment<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">of the Carburetor<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while continuing to use today&#8217;s lower Octane non-Ethanol Premium Fuel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as in most cases the total timing advance before any changes ~ adjustments ~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">will be about 45* total advance and in most cases causes pre-detonation ~ Pinging ~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">on most older non-computer pre-computer engines<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and this will prevent damage in most cases<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">while improving performance and fuel economy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">without having to add Octane Booster<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as this will lower the Explosion Temperature in the Combustion Chamber<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and will lower NOx emissions too<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">NOx = Nitrogen and Oxygen bonding at 2500 Degrees and hotter<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and then Sun Energy separates the Nitrogen from the Oxygen<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">making<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">O3 oxygen = 3 oxygen atoms together = Heavy Oxygen called Ozone<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as Ozone at ground level causes Respiratory problems<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as we are told we need more Ozone for the Ozone layer ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">whats good for Carbon based Humans is not always good for Nature and visa versa<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
